$90,000–$95,000 DOE | Direct Hire

A well-established organization in the logistics and transportation industry is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations and serve as a trusted strategic partner to leadership. This role is based onsite in Honolulu, HI, overseeing a workforce supporting logistics operations.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in Hawaii and California labor laws, excellent employee relations skills, and a hands‑on approach to leadership. This is a highly visible role for an HR professional who enjoys working in a structured, fast‑moving environment and partnering closely with leadership to strengthen HR processes, compliance, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily HR operations, supporting both Honolulu and mainland-based teams.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for all employee relations, investigations, and policy interpretation.
  • Ensure compliance with Hawaii and California labor and employment laws.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, performance management, and policy development.
  • Manage recruitment and onboarding for key operational and administrative positions.
  • Oversee benefits administration, leave management, and workers’ compensation coordination.
  • Develop and implement HR initiatives that improve engagement, retention, and compliance.
  • Lead HR reporting, audits, and correspondence with regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Champion a positive and inclusive work culture that aligns with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Human Resources, Business, or related field).
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a direct HR Manager or equivalent leadership role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Hawaii and California labor laws.
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, or aviation environments preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or SPHR certification a strong plus.
  • Proficient with HRIS and payroll systems (Kronos or similar).
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and leadership collaboration skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, sound judgment, and professionalism.
