About The Position The MaineHealth Cancer Care Network (MHCCN) invites hematologist‑oncologists to join our dynamic team at MaineHealth Cancer Care and IV Therapy – Brunswick, Maine. This is a fantastic opportunity to practice comprehensive oncology and hematology care in a rapidly expanding, supportive environment. A Growing & Collaborative Team: Rapidly growing Hematology‑Oncology practice of four experienced hematologist‑oncologists supported by two APRNs. Growing sub‑specialization within the group with a Breast medical oncologist expected to join the team in summer 2025.

Comprehensive Supportive Services: Work alongside dedicated pharmacists, nurse navigators, social workers, palliative care providers, and allied staff within a well‑equipped on‑site infusion center.

Tertiary Support: Access to advanced tertiary care hematology services at Maine Health Cancer Care (MHCC) and Maine Medical Center (MMC) in Portland, the state’s leading tertiary care hospital.

Flexibility & Balance: Full‑time position (4 days of outpatient care and 1 day of administrative time). Patients mix can be tailored to allow for a hybrid general hematology oncology and subspecialty practice.

Competitive Call Schedule: Inpatient care provided predominantly by Hospitalists at Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick, ME. Call rotations shared with MHCCN partners at Pen Bay/Waldo Medical Center are approximately one week out of every 6. First call taken by APPs.

Exciting Growth Opportunity: A state‑of‑the‑art, comprehensive cancer center with co‑located radiation oncology services is under construction in the main hospital campus at Brunswick, ME. This exciting new center will replace the current facilities in 2026. Once open, this custom‑built facility incorporating radiation oncology, radiology, laboratory, and a full complement of support services is expected to become the preferred destination for oncology services in the Mid‑Coast area.

Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

Successful completion of residency/fellowship in oncology or hematology‑oncology.

Board‑certified or board‑eligible in oncology or hematology‑oncology.

New graduates and early‑career professionals are strongly encouraged to apply.
