VP, Deposit Compliance Officer
is a key leader within our Compliance team, responsible for overseeing the
Branch Banking Regulatory Compliance Program
under the direction of the Head of Compliance. This role serves as a trusted advisor to Senior Management, providing guidance on emerging compliance issues, evolving regulations, and the design of internal controls to mitigate regulatory risk. You will conduct compliance monitoring, lead regulatory change initiatives, and support audits and examinations while ensuring our bank maintains the highest standards of integrity and compliance. This role requires strong subject matter expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Act as the bank’s subject matter expert on consumer protection, branch banking, digital banking, and payments laws and regulations. Conduct research and analysis of regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, while staying current on emerging consumer protection trends. Lead the regulatory change management process—identifying, implementing, and updating policies in response to new or revised regulations. Develop, evaluate, and maintain deposit and branch banking compliance policies and procedures. Review marketing materials, disclosures, and customer communications for regulatory compliance. Partner with Senior Management in Branch Banking and Central Operations to ensure effective policy implementation. Coordinate investigations into customer complaints and policy violations under the Bank’s Complaint Management Program. Deliver compliance training to staff and Directors, reinforcing awareness and accountability. Conduct ongoing compliance monitoring and report findings to Senior Management and the Board of Directors, with follow‑up on corrective actions. Support independent, state, and federal regulatory examinations and audits. Ensure compliance with reporting and record‑keeping obligations. Participate in compliance‑related committees and special projects at the direction of the Head of Compliance. Complete at least 10 CRA volunteer hours annually during compensated work time. Must-Have Knowledge & Skills
Strong knowledge of federal regulations and state laws impacting deposits and consumer banking, including Regulation E, Regulation CC, Regulation D, Regulation DD, FCRA, ESIGN, GLBA, CCPA/CPRA, Social Media Guidance, FATCA, UDAAP, and related rules. Familiarity with deposit products and services, including checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, official checks, ATM and debit cards, overdraft services, and online/internet banking. Qualifications
5–8 years of compliance experience with deposit, consumer, digital banking, and payments regulations. Proven ability to train and influence others on compliance requirements. CRCM certification preferred. Ability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal. High attention to detail and strong research ability. Demonstrated confidentiality and sound business judgment. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and banking/compliance technology (including GRC systems).
