Overview
GENERAL SUMMARY Primarily responsible for assisting in the Bank's compliance with federal regulations and state laws affecting deposit products and related services (e.g., demand, savings, and certificate of deposit accounts, official checks, ATM and Debit cards, ATMs, overdrafts, internet banking, etc.), including Regulation E, Regulation CC, Regulation D, Regulation DD, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), ESIGN, GLBA/CCPA/CPRA, Social Media Guidance, FATCA, UDAAP, etc., and the Bank's complaint program. In this regard, the Deposit Compliance Officer will monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations, provide assistance to the VP, Deposit Compliance Officer, in support of consulting Branch Operations and others in interpreting and understanding deposit laws and regulations. Also assist in review of Bank Policies, Operating Procedures and Systems to reasonably assure compliance with banking laws and regulations, including related marketing materials, account transaction requirements and limits, funds availability, fees and interest rate calculations and related deposit account documentation and disclosures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist the VP, Deposit Compliance Officer to maintain a comprehensive and effective deposit compliance program. Be the first point of contact to research deposit and electronic banking compliance questions and issues from internal bank clients and provide accurate and timely responses. Review deposit-related marketing and advertising materials. Be the first point of contact for processing complaints and maintaining accurate documentation. Identify potential compliance issues to assist the Compliance Training area in developing or updating training materials and facilitate delivery of related training programs. Occasionally interact with regulatory examiners and senior management on deposit compliance issues. Research regulatory newsletters and other resources to stay informed of changing laws and regulations relating to deposit accounts, electronic banking, dormant accounts and abandoned property and other regulatory compliance matters. Assist the Compliance Department and business unit managers in interpreting banking laws and regulations and ensuring related policies, procedures, and documents (e.g., TISAs, Deposit Agreement) are properly maintained and updated. Serve as a backup in the absence of the VP, Deposit Compliance Officer. Periodically assist the Compliance Monitoring area with the review, risk assessment and testing of the bank's compliance with deposit account documentation and other aspects of deposit and electronic banking requirements. Assist the Compliance Department subject matter expert with Privacy/GLBA/CCPA/CPRA and processing of CCPA requests. Ensure branches maintain the appropriate branch signs as described by regulatory law. Perform other compliance-related duties assigned by the VP, Deposit Compliance Officer. QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree not mandatory but desirable; relevant banking experience and related compliance training. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of deposit operations and compliance experience in a banking environment. Thorough knowledge and understanding of state and federal regulations within the purview of this position. CRCM certification preferred. Skills/Ability: Detail-oriented and self-motivated. Strong organizational skills. Effective written documentation, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient PC skills with Microsoft Office programs. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work within tight time constraints. Proven ability to work in a team environment. Ability to develop training materials and conduct training as appropriate. OTHER DETAILS
$90K - $105K / year Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
