We’re seeking a seasoned
Composable Architect ure, Sr Director
to serve as a practice leader focused on enterprise-scale solution design, presales engagements, and shaping the future of composable web architectures across our team. Reporting to the AVP, Frontend Engineering, you will blend hands-on technical leadership with strategic client advisory, focusing on Next.js as the core framework in composable ecosystems.
This is a remote role. Employees within 90 min of our NY, MI, or IL offices may expect 1 day a week onsite.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Practice Development
Build and mentor a team of Next.js and composable architecture specialists.
Lead technical reviews and guide complex architectural decisions.
Promote knowledge sharing through workshops and documentation.
Standards & Thought Leadership
Define engineering standards and governance for Next.js implementations.
Develop technical playbooks and performance benchmarks.
Contribute to blogs, white papers, and conferences.
Collaborate with vendors to influence product roadmaps.
Client Engagement & Presales
Lead technical solutioning for large-scale composable projects and RFPs.
Guide senior stakeholders through Next.js adoption and digital transformation.
Deliver workshops, demos, and POCs showcasing Next.js capabilities.
Present technical insights at executive briefings and industry events.
Next.js Architecture & Engineering
Architect enterprise-grade Next.js solutions using SSR, SSG, ISR, and streaming.
Design scalable systems: micro-frontends, multi-zone, monorepos (Turborepo, Nx).
Optimize performance with Server Actions, caching layers, and edge runtimes.
Advise on deployment strategies across Vercel, AWS, Azure, and hybrid clouds.
Composable Integration
Integrate Next.js with commerce platforms (Salesforce, Adobe, commercetools) and headless CMS (Contentful, AEM, etc.).
Design API-first architectures using GraphQL and REST.
Establish CDN, caching, and edge delivery strategies for performance and scalability.
Qualifications
10+ years in enterprise web development; 5+ years in composable/MACH architectures.
5+ years hands-on with Next.js, including App Router, Server Components, and advanced rendering strategies.
Deep expertise in performance optimization, data fetching, caching, and edge computing.
Proven experience integrating Next.js with commerce and CMS platforms.
Strong presales background: RFPs, workshops, executive presentations.
3+ years leading technical teams; experience setting standards and governance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

The annual base salary range for this position is $136,000 - $219,350. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law. Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.
