What you’ll do
Contribute to architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance of the Enterprise integration platform.
Design and develop APIs, integrations, and data flows.
Create solution blueprints and technical road maps for complex integration projects.
Define and enforce best practices for API and integration designs to ensure scalability, security, and reusability.
Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues.
Create reusable APIs, templates, and connectors to enable rapid development and consistency across projects.
Deploy, configure, and manage integration platform runtime environments in cloud or on-premises infrastructure.
Perform unit and integration testing and troubleshoot issues across the development lifecycle.
Maintain detailed documentation for integrations, APIs, and operational processes.
Optimize integration performance and manage capacity planning.
Collaborate with security teams to ensure the Integration platform meets industry standards and compliance requirements.
Work closely with business stakeholders, application teams, and DevOps teams to understand requirements and deliver quality solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Location & Travel Expectations
This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Fremont, CA or remotely to start with relocation to the future Scout Motors headquarters.
The responsibilities of this role require 2-3 days attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
What you’ll bring
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.
7+ years of experience designing, developing, and/or documenting architectural plans to ensure seamless and secure system operations.
Experience developing reusable GitHub Actions workflows and troubleshooting build and deployment pipelines.
Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code practices, particularly developing reusable modules in Terraform.
Experience with AWS and Anypoint CloudHub environments preferred.
Experience developing and troubleshooting SOAP‑, REST‑, and gRPC‑based integrations to coordinate business processes across external and internal systems.
Experience discovering/researching capabilities of systems through developer documentation and specifications.
Experience automating complex end‑to‑end and integration test scenarios.
Experience designing and instrumenting distributed applications for observability.
Experience with Open Telemetry and tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog preferred.
Experience with IP networking, routing, and VPNs and designing and troubleshooting multi‑site/multi‑region solutions.
Experience with AWS and CloudHub preferred.
Experience with SD‑WAN solutions like Zscaler preferred.
Experience translating business processes and requirements into logical designs and sequence diagrams with focus on ensuring correctness and reliability of the system.
Experience with ERP and logistic systems and associated business processes in a retail or manufacturing environment.
Expertise in integration platform architecture, including API‑led connectivity, multi‑layered design, and reusability strategies.
Expertise with Mule 4, DataWeave, Anypoint Studio, and API Manager preferred.
Experience with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) and enterprise service buses.
Proficiency in Java, XML, JSON, RAML, OpenAPI.
Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Initial base salary range = $140,000.00 - $170,000.00.
