Position Summary The Safety Manager is a critical position to ensure the safety of personnel on job sites and will travel within an assigned geographic location to various job sites, and may be assigned to a specific job site. Plan, implement and supervise project safety in accordance with Federal, State, and local Health and Safety regulations, and Environment (HSE) regulations, site safety and corporate policies. The successful candidate is reliable, a self-starter, can work autonomously with minimal direction from management, and has the ability to travel in a company-provided vehicle to job sites within the designated region.
Location South Bay: San Leandro, San Jose, Santa Clara
Key Responsibilities
Oversee critical work plan activities to ensure we are following the approved work plan
Perform jobsite inspections, review safety related paperwork
Ensure field operations are in compliance with Current OSHA regulations, Murray Company Policies and Owners or General Contractor’s rules as specified by contract
Assist with training as needed for the projects specifically to ensure all employees on site have the required training needed and discuss upcoming training needs with the project team and assist in scheduling classes
Assist with accident, incident and near miss investigation for the jobsites and develop safety alerts as a result thereof
Ensure appropriate management of work-related injuries and proper care for injured employees
Develop and implement procedures to eliminate hazards and situations as those discovered through lessons learned and investigations from prior incidents
Assist Safety Department and project team as needed for specific safety related items
Qualifications
5+ years of experience overseeing safety across multiple job sites.
Construction Safety industry experience.
Knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations.
Required: Education, Certification, and Training Requirements
OSHA 500 certification.
CPR certification.
Preferred: Safety Trained Safety Certified and CPR Training Certification
STSC (Safety Trained Safety Certified).
CPR Training Certification.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
Must have sufficient visual acuity to read printed and digital documents.
Must be able to climb ladders, access and egress trenches and/or attic spaces and/or confined spaces.
Requires hearing ability to communicate in noisy environments.
Must be able to recognize alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
Compensation $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
