Safety Manager – Northern California (South Bay Region)
At Murray Company, our values of safety, quality, honesty, hard work, and pride guide our operations. Our Safety Manager will travel to job sites across the South Bay to plan, implement, and supervise project safety in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and corporate policies.
Location:
San Leandro, San Jose, Santa Clara
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee critical work plan activities to ensure adherence to approved work plans.
Conduct jobsite inspections and review safety‑related paperwork.
Ensure field operations comply with OSHA regulations, Murray Company policies, and contract owner or general contractor rules.
Assist with training for project teams, schedule safety classes, and identify training needs.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near‑misses and develop safety alerts.
Manage work‑related injuries and provide proper care for injured employees.
Develop and implement procedures to eliminate hazards identified through lessons learned and investigations.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience overseeing safety across multiple job sites.
Construction safety industry experience.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
OSHA 500 certification.
CPR certification.
Preferred:
STSC (Safety Trained Safety Certified) certification.
CPR Training Certification.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
Read printed and digital documents.
Climb ladders, access and egress trenches, attic spaces, or confined spaces.
Hearing ability to communicate in noisy environments.
Recognize alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
Compensation:
$130,000 – $153,000 per year plus discretionary cash bonus program.
