Senior Retirement Programs Administrator
to oversee the tactical administration and daily operations of our retirement programs across multiple entities. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, manage plan operations for union and non-union groups, and lead process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and employee satisfaction. Responsibilities
Manage daily operations for defined benefit and defined contribution plans, including eligibility, contributions, distributions, loan administration, audits, testing, reporting, and regulatory filings. Ensure adherence to ERISA, IRS, DOL, and other regulatory requirements while maintaining documentation, audit readiness, and reporting accuracy. Serve as the primary contact for plan participants, internal teams, and external vendors, providing expert guidance and resolving complex inquiries. Lead enhancements to operational consistency, plan automation, and system utilization, promoting efficiency and compliance across programs. Coordinate annual plan audits and non-discrimination testing, manage data integrity, and prepare accurate filings including Form 5500 and required notices. Analyze plan performance, costs, and trends to inform recommendations, support leadership with retirement data and projections for budgeting and negotiations. Maintain strong relationships with recordkeepers, TPAs, trustees, and advisors; facilitate Retirement Plan Committee meetings and documentation. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant coursework and applied experience. Certifications: Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA), or similar certifications preferred. Experience: 5+ years of direct retirement plan administration experience, including work with multi-employer and/or union plans. Skills & Knowledge: Deep understanding of defined benefit and defined contribution plan features and mechanics; expertise in ERISA and applicable federal and state regulations; proficiency with
Fidelity Plan Sponsor
tools and reporting; advanced Excel; strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; proven ability to interpret complex plan documents and regulations; familiarity with HRIS and vendor reporting systems; strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism. Location and Compensation
Base pay range: $135,000.00/yr - $155,000.00/yr. This salary range is based on the geographic zone associated with this role:
San Rafael, CA . Starting pay will be determined by job-related factors including experience, education, and business needs and may be modified at any time. EEO Statement
