Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the work of engineers involved in thermal control hardware design and operation.

Collaborate closely with the Thermal Analysis Lead to ensure full design closure of the Thermal Control Subsystem.

Take accountability for the thermal control hardware design and associated deliverables.

Present thermal design status and updates in internal and external meetings and reviews.

Oversee the production of mechanical and interface control drawings for thermal control hardware in line with program schedules and requirements.

Coordinate the procurement of thermal control hardware in accordance with the project plan.

Participate in managing the thermal control hardware budget.

Coordinate testing and instrumentation of thermal control hardware at component, subsystem, and/or system level in collaboration with the Thermal Analysis Lead and Test Group Lead.

Track thermal control hardware throughout development and integration.

Inspect installed engineering and flight unit hardware for compliance with drawings and requirements.

Required Qualifications

Proven experience with Active and Passive Thermal Control Hardware for spacecraft, including coatings, multi‑layer insulation, pumped fluid loop systems, radiators, heat spreaders/straps, thermal isolation, and heaters.

Experience producing mechanical and interface control drawings.

Expert proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and/or Creo.

Background in hardware procurement and testing.

Strong experience in requirements‑based design and verification.

Hands‑on experience with component testing and mechanical requirements verification.

Solid understanding of radiative and conductive heat transfer in space environments.

Familiarity with pumped fluid loop system performance in space environments.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Thermo‑fluids Engineering (or equivalent).

Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.

Highly self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of meeting critical deadlines.

Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with software control of active thermal components.

Previous leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Experience presenting at major program reviews such as Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Test/Manufacturing Readiness Reviews.
