Senior Building Envelope Architect or Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Building Envelope Architect or Engineer to lead restoration and compliance projects throughout New York City. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with FISP/Local Law 11 and Local Law 126, and a strong background in managing façade restoration projects from inspection through construction.
This role offers the opportunity to work on high‑impact projects, mentor junior staff, and grow into a leadership position within the firm. You’ll also be supported in pursuing your QEWI or QPSI designation if not already held.
Key Responsibilities
Lead building envelope inspections, assessments, and restoration projects across NYC
Prepare and review FISP/Local Law 11 reports and filings
Oversee Local Law 126 compliance strategies and documentation
Develop restoration scopes, technical specifications, and construction documents
Manage project budgets, schedules, and client communications
Conduct site visits and construction administration for active restoration projects
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success
Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal training initiatives
Support efforts to obtain QEWI or QPSI credentials
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience in building envelope design, inspection, and restoration
Strong familiarity with FISP/Local Law 11 and Local Law 126 compliance
Proven track record managing restoration projects in NYC
Professional licensure: PE (Professional Engineer) or RA (Registered Architect) strongly preferred
Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Passion for preservation, safety, and technical excellence
QEWI or QPSI designation is a plus, or a strong desire to pursue it
