We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented
Construction Bookkeeper/Accountant
to join our growing team. This key role supports our financial operations, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and the executive team to ensure seamless financial and project accounting. Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger entries and account reconciliations
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies
Process payments to vendors and subcontractors, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement
Track incoming payments and manage invoicing schedules
Track and report project-specific costs and budgets
Assist project managers with job costing, budget variances, and forecasting
Reconcile project billing and expenses to ensure accuracy
Prepare and submit AIA billing applications and lien waivers
Ensure compliance with contract terms and retainage requirements
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
Support audits and internal reviews as needed
Collaborate across departments and assist with ad hoc projects and operational tasks
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
5+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience in the construction industry
Strong experience with AIA billing, subcontractor payments, and project accounting
Familiarity with construction software Sage, QuickBooks or an ERP software
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting tools
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
