Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s Fixed Income team is hiring a Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) in Chicago. The CPM will be the commercial catalyst for our fixed‑income platform, converting investment insight into tangible client outcomes and scalable asset growth. As the portfolio’s client‑facing voice, the CPM will translate strategy, risk, and performance into compelling, actionable narratives that win, retain, and expand mandates. The CPM is expected to uphold IPS discipline, deliver flawless execution, and coordinate with portfolio managers, trading, product, operations, and distribution to scale solutions, deepen relationships, and drive net flows. Responsibilities
Serve the existing client base, engage regularly, and initiate new business initiatives within a global team structure. Drive new business opportunities, liaise with product development and sales, and complete request‑for‑proposal documentation while supporting Sales and Client Relationship Management. Synthesize and communicate investment philosophy, process, product positioning, and current market trends to current and prospective clients. Collaborate with clients on asset allocation, investment guidelines, risk budgeting, and portfolio optimization. Partner with distribution and operational teams to optimize the client experience and portfolio management. Experience & Qualifications
7+ years of fixed‑income experience with direct client exposure in portfolio management. Strong knowledge of buy‑side fixed‑income portfolio management. Client‑facing experience is required. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and excellent follow‑through. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and confidence with colleagues and clients. Experience working in a fast‑paced, cross‑time‑zone environment. Willingness and ability to travel internationally and domestically. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Bloomberg. Salary Range
Base salary: $100,000 – $230,000. Eligibility for a discretionary bonus for active employees as of fiscal year‑end. Benefits
