SEH is an employee‑owned engineering, architectural, planning, and environmental company. We are seeking a Senior Civil or Environmental Engineer – Wastewater to join our Water/Wastewater team in Des Moines, Iowa, or Omaha, Nebraska.

This Opportunity
Open to candidates residing in Iowa and Nebraska.
Lead planning, development, coordination, and direction of multiple wastewater infrastructure projects—treatment, pumping, distribution, storage, and conveyance.
Maintain close relationships with clients throughout development and project completion.
Guide teams in creating innovative solutions for complex wastewater challenges.
Collaborate cross‑functionally to identify and mitigate project risks.
Travel as needed for client meetings.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field.
Registered Professional Engineer.
Experience in comprehensive design, construction, and project management of wastewater treatment and/or conveyance projects.
Proven ability in proposal writing and client management; experience developing new business opportunities.
Must be located in Des Moines, Iowa, or Omaha, Nebraska, or surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
20 years of experience in civil engineering.
15 years of project management experience in wastewater treatment and/or conveyance.
Experience managing a staff of engineering professionals and mentoring junior staff.
Active membership in local, state, or national civil engineering societies in Iowa or Nebraska.
Compensation and Benefits Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $150,000 and $170,000 based on skill set and experience. A full benefits package is available through SEH Hiring Journey.
