Staff Accountant
Join Satterfield & Pontikes Construction in Houston. The Staff Accountant will manage accounting operations across five subsidiaries, support construction projects, and coordinate financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and accounts payable/receivable.
Support Work-In-Process (WIP) schedule preparation and reporting.
Oversee and process subcontractor payments and billing accuracy.
Coordinate legal filings for lien notices, bond claims, and other collection actions.
Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules, and sales tax remittance.
Assist with annual audit preparations and internal control improvements.
Collaborate with project managers and operations on project cost accounting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction.
Strong knowledge of construction billing processes, lien and bond filings, job cost accounting.
Experience with general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Full-time, Monday-Friday in-office. Competitive salary, benefits, 401(k) and annual bonuses.
