UC Program Director
Join Bethany Christian Services as the Unaccompanied Children (UC) Program Director in Grand Rapids, MI. Oversee Transitional Assessment Center (TAC), Transitional Foster Care (TFC), and Long-Term Foster Care (LTFC) programs, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Attend staff meetings and partner with the Branch Director to coordinate service delivery.
Direct, train, and develop direct reports, fostering a trauma-focused environment.
Assist with annual budget and program goals, ensuring alignment with agency standards.
Oversee UC operations, maintaining quality standards and staff evaluations.
Develop and enforce policies consistent with state, federal, and licensing requirements.
Maintain relationships with referral sources, community agencies, and progressions.
Coordinate Residential policy and procedures committee with COA, DHHS, ORS, ORR, CCI, and contract regulations.
Assist with public relations, case recording, and training curriculum implementation.
Audit aftercare and transitions, staying current with trends and regulatory updates.
Participate in speaking engagements, courses, and learning experiences as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field with at least five years program administration experience; Master’s preferred with at least two years.
Active Child Welfare Certification in Michigan, preferred.
Fluent Spanish/English or other common languages spoken by refugee and immigrant populations.
Experience with trauma and refugee/immigrant youth.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; compassionate customer service orientation.
Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and exercise high judgment.
Clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills.
Strong teamwork, cultural sensitivity, and mature judgment.
Computer skills – Microsoft Office suite; TB test annually, Hepatitis immunization optional.
Physical ability to perform essential functions, including restraint of residents.
21 years old, valid driver’s license with at least three years driving experience; MVR check and reliable vehicle.
Pass criminal history screen and child protection agency records.
Vaccination record or willingness to receive vaccination.
