Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Contract
Location: Hauppauge, NY | Contract | Start Immediate | Every other Friday off.
Overview We’re looking for a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer with passion for precision and injection molding expertise to join Actalent’s high‑impact project.
Responsibilities
Design mechanical systems, assemblies, and machined components using SolidWorks.
Run FEA and thermal simulations in ANSYS to validate and optimize designs.
Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturing and assembly.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams: manufacturing, electrical, controls.
Lead design reviews, implement feedback, and improve product performance.
Support prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting.
Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
7+ years of mechanical design experience; injection molding a huge plus.
SolidWorks wizardry for 3D modeling.
Experience with ANSYS or similar FEA tools.
Strong grasp of materials, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
