Senior Product Engineer
Join E.D. Etnyre & Co. as a Senior Product Engineer and help design, validate, and support new trailer products while improving existing products and processes.
Basic Function Responsible for ongoing engineering and new product development for the trailer product lines, ensuring safety, performance, maintainability, manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop and document clear product designs for new and existing trailer products.
Collaborate to specify product requirements and focus on continuous improvement.
Interpret product testing and analysis requirements based on internal and industry standards.
Produce initial production cost estimates and bills of material.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Drafting teams to produce manufacturing documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and process instructions.
Self-manage multiple concurrent projects and manage critical path items.
Work with Production Team on shop floor to resolve production issues efficiently.
Provide technical assistance to sales, marketing, and internal departments.
Participate in internal and external corrective and preventative actions.
Required Skills/Experience
Minimum 5 years of product development experience and proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks).
Minimum 4 years in a manufacturing environment with cross‑functional experience.
Proficiency in DFM of welded structures, machined components, and assembly processes.
Minimum 3 years of computer‑aided engineering analysis (FEA, virtual validation).
Minimum 2 years of hydraulic or pneumatic system design.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office tools, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management tools.
Preferred Skills/Experience
Proficiency in Materials Properties, RCA, DFMEA.
Proficiency in heavy sheet metal design, beam design, and weld fabrication processes.
Knowledge of tooling & fixture design.
Knowledge of federal regulations in lighting, conspicuity, air brake systems.
PLM/PDM experience.
Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Broad understanding of machine structures, mechanisms, metal fabrication, hydraulics, electronics, pneumatics, machine controls, and strong proficiency in 3‑D CAD.
Salary Ranges $80,747 – $121,120 annually.
