NYC / FUND STRUCTURING / OPERATIONS / FULL-TIME
We have offices in New York and Amsterdam. This role is located based out of our New York City office.
About Secfi and Secfi Asset Management Secfi is the leading platform helping startup employees make the most of their equity. We provide planning tools, financing products, and investment strategies to thousands of tech professionals, helping them exercise options, unlock liquidity, and participate in the value they’ve helped create.
Secfi Asset Management operates like a fund within a startup, raising capital from top institutional investors and deploying it into high-growth private tech companies via proprietary financing structures. With a differentiated origination funnel, tech-enabled operations, and growing LP demand, we’re scaling rapidly.
About the role We are seeking a Director of Fund Operations to lead the development and execution of our fund infrastructure. This is a senior, hands‑on role that bridges legal, operational, and outside‑facing responsibilities, critical to scaling our investment platform.
You will be responsible for operating, designing and implementing fund structures, building scalable investor operations, managing third‑party service providers, and solving complex cross‑border, investor, legal, and tax challenges. This is not just a fund admin role, we’re looking for someone who can think like a strategist and execute like an operator.
This position is ideal for a sharp, detail‑oriented professional with experience in fund formation, middle‑office operations, or legal/tax structuring in a private fund environment. You must be a doer, problem solver, and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast‑paced, startup environment.
Responsibilities
Design, launch, and manage fund vehicles (commingled funds, feeders, blockers, evergreen structures, etc.)
Work with counsel and tax advisors to structure funds across jurisdictions (US, Cayman, Luxembourg, etc.)
Collaborate with counsel to refine fund documents (LPAs, side letters, sub docs) and manage legal workflows
Build SOPs and operational infrastructure for onboarding, capital calls, liquidity, redemptions, and NAV calculations
Lead investor onboarding: KYC/AML, documentation, subscription workflows
Coordinate capital calls, cash flows, and investor notices
Serve as point of contact for operational inquiries from LPs and internal teams and lead operation diligence inquiries
Manage relationships with fund administrators and ensure data accuracy and timeliness
Identify and resolve gaps in fund structures, contracts, and processes to strengthen enforceability and scalability
Liaise with legal, tax, and compliance teams on regulatory filings, audits, and LP obligations
Collaborate with Investment, Legal, Tech, and Finance teams
Support fundraising efforts by ensuring operational readiness for new investors or vehicles
Contribute to regulatory filings, audits, and compliance reviews
Core Qualifications
10+ years of experience in fund operations, fund counsel, or structuring at an investment firm or fund administrator, or a combination thereof
Proven track record designing and launching private investment vehicles
Deep understanding of fund docs (LPAs, sub docs, side letters) and fund mechanics
Experience working across jurisdictions with legal and tax advisors
Strong process design and project management skills
Comfortable interfacing with legal teams, institutional LPs, and internal executives
Self‑starter mindset and willingness to get hands‑dirty
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with Venture Capital and venture secondaries
Direct experience with evergreen or interval fund structures
Exposure to NAV‑based vehicles or secondary liquidity mechanisms
Background in fund accounting or controllership is a plus
You’ll be building the operating core of a high‑growth investment platform, directly shaping how we raise capital, serve LPs, and scale investments. This is a high‑ownership, high‑impact role, ideal for someone who wants to architect and execute at once.
