Overview Talbert, Bright & Ellington, LLC seeks a

Project Accountant

for its office in Charlotte, NC. The role manages project accounting, budgeting, revenue recognition, and billing to support rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily operations of project accounting, driving process improvements.

Provide strategic support to leadership via clear communication on contract documents, change orders, and billing.

Review and validate the accrual process for accuracy and compliance.

Analyze variances in project performance, optimizing billing opportunities.

Coordinate year‑end audit support, ensuring a seamless audit process.

Serve as the primary liaison with Equal Opportunity Compliance agencies and oversee government contract requirements.

Resolve complex contract and billing issues, owning escalated inquiries.

Standardize billing procedures across the organization.

Provide education and training on accounting practices and Vision software.

Develop and enforce comprehensive policies for all project accounting activities, reporting on project profitability.

Ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business (preferred).

7+ years of equivalent financial accounting experience (required).

Deltek Vision or VantagePoint experience (required).

Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, including Excel and Access.

Strong knowledge of standard contract terms and billing process.

Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently, prioritize complex analytical tasks.

Strong service orientation and self‑starter.

Well organized, with high level of attention to detail.

Support all divisions providing timely accurate financial reporting, analysis and assistance as needed.
