An international manufacturing company is seeking a highly skilled Controller to lead its Accounting department.
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations and financial reporting. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, compliance with corporate policies, regulatory standards, and timely reporting to support strategic and operational decision-making. The Controller will manage the accounting team and actively collaborate with other departments.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, and month / year-end close processes.
Prepare, and present accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP and corporate requirements.
Maintain internal controls, ensuring compliance with SOX regulations and company policies.
Provide support in the annual budgeting process. Collaborate with department managers.
Prepare monthly forecasts, and variance analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
Support internal / external corporate audits by providing supporting documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
Strengthen internal controls and streamline financial processes to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. Provide recommendations to improve profitability and cost efficiency.
Partner with Operations to provide inventory control, cost analysis and reporting.
Assist in financial modeling and analysis to support business decisions, capital expenditures, and strategic initiatives.
Prepare site-level financial insights for presentations or meetings.
Manage and develop the accounting team, fostering accuracy, accountability and professional growth.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
CPA or CMA strongly preferred. MBA is a plus.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, accounting software and ERP systems.
7 -10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 -5 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
Experience in manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting and cost analysis.
Solid knowledge in GAAP, financial controls and reporting requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and accuracy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with corporate finance and cross-functional teams.
Leadership style that develops and motivates team members
Comfortable balancing hands-on work with strategic reporting and analysis
Capable of working independently while supporting collaborative decision making.
