Job Description Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talented Engineering Manager/Senior Supervisor I&C Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will lead instrumentation and controls efforts across diverse and challenging projects, ranging from site utility improvements to greenfield chemical production facilities. You will play a pivotal role in delivering technical excellence, fostering team growth, and driving project success in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Provide technical leadership and management for instrumentation and controls systems, including industrial process control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI), industrial instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level, and analytical sensors), cybersecurity (NIST compliance for control systems), electronic security and camera systems (access control, surveillance, monitoring), building automation systems (HVAC, lighting, energy management), communication systems (wired and wireless networks for control systems), and electrical distribution as it relates to I&C integration.

Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers, and interns, fostering professional growth and collaboration.

Oversee system design, procurement, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operations/maintenance for I&C systems.

Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISA, NFPA/NEC, UFC/UFGS, and leverage current technology and engineering software.

Support pre‑contract and business development efforts as a technical consultant.

Establish and improve standards, procedures, and quality programs within the discipline.

Drive innovation by integrating emerging technologies, such as AI and machine learning, into engineering design and production workflows.

Stay ahead of industry trends and advancements in I&C systems, including digital twins, predictive analytics, and smart systems.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related field) and 15+ years of relevant experience, including supervisory/managerial roles.

Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed teams of 15+ personnel across diverse projects.

Deep expertise in instrumentation and controls systems and related fields, including system design, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Strong knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and engineering software capabilities.

Control Systems Professional Engineer registration in California (and other states as required) with willingness to represent Parsons Control Systems discipline as a registered qualifier where needed.

Active membership in relevant professional societies such as the International Society of Automation (ISA), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE).

Demonstrated involvement in professional society activities, such as serving on committees, contributing to technical publications, or presenting at conferences.

Current security clearance highly desirable; must be able to obtain federal clearance.

Desired Skills

Familiarity with control system programming and integration, including PLC ladder logic, DCS configuration, and SCADA/HMI development.

Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.

Experience with AI‑driven tools and workflows, including predictive modeling, automated design optimization, and digital twins.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving project needs.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Salary Range $128,700.00 – $231,700.00
