Job Brief We are seeking a highly skilled
Level 4 Data Center Technician
to join our IT team. This role involves advanced break-fix support for GPUs, servers, network, and cabling, as well as ticket management using ITSM tools. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience deploying and maintaining fully populated GPU or network racks in a data center environment, including rack movement, baying, leveling, grounding, hot-air containment, and cable tray management. Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies (copper, fiber SM/MM/MPO), routing, dressing, and connectors is essential.
Responsibilities
Perform tasks across Levels 1–3 as needed, including:
Move, inspect, and install servers and switches.
Cable devices according to wire maps and standards.
Troubleshoot servers, replace faulty components, and update firmware.
Configure IP addresses and assist network admins with connectivity issues.
Deploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
Perform break-fix tasks on GPUs, servers, network, and cabling.
Manage tickets using ITSM tools.
Interpret BOMs to ensure all materials are accounted for.
Install, test, and label copper and fiber infrastructures.
Handle and install optical modules (SFPs, QSFPs).
Scope and clean fibers (SC, LC, MPO).
Rack and stack equipment, patch fiber and copper cables.
Lead and manage teams effectively.
Provide documentation and daily updates using MS Office and customer tracking tools.
Ensure compliance with safety measures and data center standards.
Travel as required.
Requirements
10+ years of deployment and/or break-fix experience in a data center.
Extensive experience with GPU and network rack deployments.
Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies (copper, fiber SM/MM/MPO).
Experience with optical modules and fiber cleaning.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft data center environments and telecom engineering designs.
Willingness to travel as required.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Certifications
CompTIA A+, Server+, CCENT (or equivalent experience).
CCNA certification preferred.
MCP/MSCE certification preferred.
Windows OS experience.
Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) preferred.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $46.20 - $46.20/hr.
