Job Description Asphalt Paving Crew Foreman
Lead High-Impact Paving Projects with Precision!
We're seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Crew Foreman to supervise field crews in hot mix asphalt operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and top-quality results on roads, lots, and infrastructure. Provide hands-on leadership with deep technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise 510 crew members (operators, laborers, truck drivers), assigning tasks, training, and enforcing safety/quality standards Plan daily operations: interpret blueprints, layouts, and grade stakes; coordinate equipment (pavers, rollers) and materials for smooth hot mix placement Oversee paving processes including grade/slope controls, rolling patterns, compaction, DOT specifications, and ADA compliance Perform hands-on tasks like raking, smoothing, and subgrade prep; conduct basic equipment maintenance and quantity calculations for production reports Monitor progress, address hazards, and adapt to long hours/variable schedules for on-time project delivery Requirements
High School Diploma/GED 4+ years asphalt paving experience, including 2+ years in a foreman/leadership role Proven crew management skills and ability to read/interpret plans Strong knowledge of paving techniques, equipment, and regulations Valid driver's license; dependable, punctual, and quality-focused Willingness to work extended hours/weekends in peak season Compensation
Competitive hourly rate or salary; 40 hours/week base with time-and-a-half overtime. Generous discretionary bonuses.
