Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and register blood donors, ensuring accurate donor records and eligibility verification.
  • Perform blood collections via venipuncture or automated collection techniques (training provided).
  • Monitor donors for reactions and provide care as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards at the donation site.
  • Set up and dismantle collection equipment and supplies in compliance with procedures.
  • Label, pack, and prepare collected blood for transport.
  • Assist with donor education regarding blood donation and Red Cross services.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to maintain workflow.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and report equipment issues promptly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn Red Cross systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be comfortable with blood and needles (training provided).

Experience

  • No prior experience required — this is an entry-level opportunity.
  • Experience in healthcare, phlebotomy, or customer service is a plus but not mandatory.
  • On-the-job training will be provided, including certification in Red Cross blood collection protocols.

Working Hours

  • Flexible scheduling available (full-time or part-time).
