A respected San Diego law firm is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Immigration Litigation Attorney with a strong background in asylum and removal defense.
This position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of immigrants through impactful courtroom advocacy while working alongside experienced attorneys focused on consultations and strategy.
This role is ideal for an attorney passionate about immigrant rights, litigation, and appellate work who thrives in a mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Represent clients in EOIR hearings, BIA and AAO appeals, federal court proceedings, and USCIS interviews.
Prepare and file motions, briefs, and appeals, including responses to RFE/NOID.
Conduct legal research and case analysis to support litigation strategies.
Collaborate closely with lead attorneys to ensure high-quality representation.
Participate in ICE check-ins and guardianship hearings as needed.
Manage multiple active cases while meeting court and filing deadlines.
Contribute to the firm’s ongoing mission of defending immigrant rights and social justice.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law, with preference for California Bar admission.
Minimum 2 years of immigration law experience, particularly in asylum and litigation.
Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
Demonstrated courtroom experience with strong advocacy and writing skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Willingness to travel for court appearances, client interviews, and conferences.
Deep commitment to human rights, fairness, and immigrant protection.
