Field Sales Engineer – Santa Clara, CA
Amphenol High Speed and Commercial Products Groups are market leaders in high‑speed, high‑bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom and diverse market. We seek Field Sales Engineers to join our Enterprise and Data Center Sales teams in Santa Clara.
Responsibilities
Sell and promote all Amphenol products within an assigned territory and defined accounts via successful design win activities and total channel management.
Identify interconnect opportunities for clients, working with the customer engineering team to design in new products.
Develop and implement a sales plan and growth strategy for territory and customers.
Meet and exceed strategic objectives and sales quota through new design wins and channel management.
Support technical aspects of the sales cycle, including marketing support for product development and implementation.
Provide customer service to solve complex interconnect problems and technical inquiries.
Track orders and revenue by customer.
Build rapport and provide support by supplying information on samples, delivery dates, part drawings, specifications, quality issues, credit issues, etc.
Travel as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with Business/Marketing aptitude, or Bachelor’s in Business with technical sales experience.
Knowledge and understanding of interconnect solutions industry.
5+ years of field sales and applications experience, or related experience (inside sales or customer service with interconnect, passive, electromechanical components).
Knowledge of international business practices a plus.
Skills
Sales and negotiation skills to secure technical design wins, approved vendor status, contracts, and customer partnership.
Technically astute, with the ability to acquire extensive product and application knowledge and provide solutions for customer design challenges.
Self‑motivated and driven to identify, qualify, and pursue new customers and markets.
Effective communication across engineering and managerial functions.
Strong oral and written communication for high‑level customer service and relationship building.
Organization skills to prioritize, plan, and meet strategic objectives.
Leadership skills to assess and drive new opportunities in a global account environment.
Knowledge of modeling tools Pro E or SolidWorks.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Compensation & Benefits The base salary range is $91,800 – $174,240 per year. Amphenol offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage effective day 1, vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, life insurance, disability, 401(k) match, annual incentive bonus program, company vehicle, and participation in a 401(k) plan. Position eligibility includes an annual incentive bonus program and company vehicle.
