Staff Mechanical Design Engineer – Electromechanical / Capital Equipment
Location: Covington, GA (Onsite Monday–Thursday; Friday flexible)
Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
About the Role We are seeking an experienced
Staff Mechanical Engineer
to lead the design and development of complex
electromechanical systems and capital equipment . This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of critical design initiatives, provide technical leadership to a small team, and contribute to cutting-edge innovations in a regulated, high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop
mechanical components, mechanisms, and systems
for complex electromechanical and capital equipment applications.
Lead and mentor a small team of engineers to achieve project goals and technical excellence.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Electrical, Software, and Manufacturing teams to ensure design integration and reliability.
Apply advanced engineering analysis, including
FEA ,
tolerance analysis , and
Design of Experiments (DOE) , to validate and optimize designs.
Participate in full product development lifecycle activities including concept generation, prototyping, testing, and design validation.
Support product documentation, design reviews, and compliance with applicable standards and quality systems (GMP, ISO 13485 preferred).
Troubleshoot and resolve complex design challenges in real-world applications.
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME or MSME).
Minimum
8 years of experience
in mechanical design for
electromechanical systems or capital equipment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to
lead or mentor
small technical teams.
Hands‑on experience with motors, sensors, actuators, wiring, and mechanical assemblies.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience in the
medical device
or
regulated industry .
Familiarity with
GMP ,
ISO 13485 , or similar quality systems.
Strong proficiency in engineering tools such as CAD, FEA, and tolerance analysis software.
Demonstrated success in
R&D environments
or
product development projects
involving complex machinery.
