Job Description
A Stress Analysis Engineer job is currently available at Belcan. This is a contract position located in St. Louis. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science degree in the engineering field, preferably Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, and a minimum of 2 years of experience analyzing aerospace structure.
Job Duties
Perform structural analysis on structural components and mechanisms using classical hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Create strength reports documenting analysis results.
Evaluate supplier hardware non-conformances and material substitutions.
Ensure work packages conform to the technical work statement scope, schedule and quality.
Work under general supervision with advisement from more experienced engineers.
Effectively present (oral and written) engineering requirements and results.
Work effectively in an IPT environment and across facilities and groups.
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
2 or more years of experience performing aerospace structural analysis.
Experience with Boeing tools, specifically CSW and Stresscheck.
Understanding of free-body diagrams and structural load paths.
General knowledge of mechanism analysis and weld analysis.
Familiarity with mechanical ground support equipment.
Understanding of classical static stress analysis and allowable determination.Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
Experience with Microsoft office tools.
Must have good interpersonal skills and able to work with others effectively.
Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and communication skills.
Strong emphasis on customer service.
Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
Preferred
Experience with Hypermesh and Optistruct.
