Stress Analysis Engineer – Belcan
Belcan is seeking an experienced Stress Analysis Engineer for a contract position located in St. Louis. The candidate will analyze aerospace structures and support engineering decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Duties
Perform structural analysis on components and mechanisms using classical hand calculations and FEA.
Create strength reports documenting analysis results.
Evaluate supplier hardware non‑conformances and material substitutions.
Ensure work packages conform to the technical work statement scope, schedule and quality.
Work under general supervision with advisement from more experienced engineers.
Effectively present (oral and written) engineering requirements and results.
Work effectively in an IPT environment and across facilities and groups.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
5+ years of experience performing aerospace structural analysis.
Experience with Boeing tools, specifically CSW and Stresscheck.
Understanding of freebody diagrams and structural load paths.
General knowledge of mechanism analysis and weld analysis.
Familiarity with mechanical ground support equipment.
Understanding of classical static stress analysis and allowable determination.
Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).
Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work with others effectively.
Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and communication skills.
Strong emphasis on customer service.
Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Hypermesh and Optistruct.
