POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operations Director, Automation and Outbound is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all automated systems and outbound logistics operations. This position ensures efficient, scalable, and high-performance fulfillment operations through cutting-edge automation technologies and process optimization.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in warehouse automation, outbound distribution, and operational leadership in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Outbound and Shipping
Manage manual picking
Manage manual packing
Manage manual poly packing
Manage tray, LPN and lidder machines
Manage all “specialty” picking / packing
Manage manual replenishment and purging (day shifts)
Manage shipping and liaison with shipping carrier
Manage Inventory Control: supplies and equipment
Manage Asset lockers & voice lockers: check in and out process
Manage all day-to-day training within departments
Co-Chair Safety & Impact Committee
Partner with peer leaders to achieve Crecera Brands “Golden Rules”
Partner with peer leaders to achieve Crecera Brands “Culture”
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE WMS & Automation Experience Requirements
Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience with warehouse management systems, especially Manhattan’s WMi/ PkMS version.
Proven experience leading WMi/ PkMS deployment and integration across inbound, outbound, and inventory functions.
Strong background in orchestrating order waving and release strategies to support same‑day shipping and e‑commerce fulfillment.
Deep understanding of WMS tasking groups, task management, shortage/ exception handling, and labor optimization.
Clear understanding of Inventory functions in WMi/ PkMS (Cycle counts, Adjustments, Movements, Returns)
Experience in end‑to‑end design and execution of automated fulfillment flows for scalable, high‑volume operations.
Expertise integrating WMi with automation systems such as ASRS/ GTP, conveyors, sorters, and robotics.
Skilled in managing WMi‑LMS‑TEi interoperability and coordinating data exchange with WES for real‑time orchestration.
Shipping Functions expertise in WMi with Manifesting, Ship Vias, International shipping is a must.
Troubleshooting manifesting errors, reducing inventory shortages in WMi/ PkMS is preferred.
Proven ability to identify and resolve WMS performance issues to maintain SLA adherence and throughput goals.
Hands‑on experience with production cutover, stabilization, and long‑term system performance management.
Ability to use data and dashboards to drive operational and system improvement decisions.
