Responsibilities
Lead construction of base building and MEP infrastructure for high‑density liquid‑cooling tenant fit‑outs.
Oversee project execution with colocation providers, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery and top‑quality standards.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and coordinate milestones across cross‑functional partners.
Conduct independent risk evaluations and develop mitigation strategies to protect timelines and budgets.
Integrate tenant fit‑outs throughout design, construction, and commissioning phases.
Implement quality control processes to meet design specifications and industry standards.
Coordinate with design teams to align construction with approved plans and specifications.
Serve as primary point of contact for colocation providers, ensuring clear communication.
Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain project compliance with regulations and codes.
Provide input for continuous improvement of colocation provider evaluation.
Conduct regular site visits to ensure schedule, coordination, and quality throughout the project life cycle.
Required Skills
Extensive knowledge of base building data center construction – civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing.
Project management experience for startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to address complex challenges in a fast‑paced construction environment.
Expertise in developing long‑term strategies and program‑level construction requirements.
Deep understanding of data center design, construction, and operational requirements with focus on cutting‑edge technologies and sustainability.
Proven ability to manage large‑scale data center construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring timeliness and budget adherence.
Leadership experience in guiding diverse teams of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals.
Proficiency in creating, managing, and optimizing project budgets for cost‑effective resource use.
Risk management skills – identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Vendor management experience selecting, negotiating, and managing contracts with external vendors and suppliers.
Regulatory compliance knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement and project updates.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 10 years of experience in construction project management, focusing on data center or colocation infrastructure.
Track record of successfully managing large‑scale construction projects.
Strong understanding of construction processes, quality control, and design coordination.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
Capability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Must be able to travel – 25% or more at times.
