Vice President for Communications and External Relations
Join York Technical College, a public two‑year institution of higher education in South Carolina, as the Vice President for Communications and External Relations. This executive leadership role reports to the President and leads the development of a comprehensive advancement program, securing major philanthropic support to fuel student success and institutional innovation.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement the College’s advancement strategy, cultivating and soliciting major donors, managing fundraising campaigns, and shepherding grants development to secure significant contributions.
Foster relationships with business, industry, and community leaders to strengthen workforce development and create lasting opportunities for students.
Oversee marketing and communications strategies, including crisis communications, to elevate the College’s public image and inspire engagement with stakeholders.
Integrate the College’s “front porch” concept into all external relations, ensuring seamless and inclusive experiences for stakeholders.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
Seven or more years of progressively responsible leadership and management experience in development or advancement, preferably within higher education or a similarly complex organization.
Demonstrated success in securing significant contributions from major donors, cultivating long‑term donor relationships, and managing fundraising campaigns.
