The Solutions Engineering team sits at the intersection of sales, account management, product, R&D, and operations. We own the technical side of the customer lifecycle from discovery through demos, POC, technical scoping, and handover to post-sales. This role will train you to grow across these vectors. Please note: this role requires you to be in our NYC office at least 3 days per week. We do not offer sponsorship for this role. What Youll Do
As a member of the Solutions Engineering team, your first month will be: Learning to tell a clear value story about how Metronome solves challenges and creates opportunities in a modern monetization stack. Assisting in planning, building, and running customized demos of Metronome for buyers with many different personas (engineering, product management, operations, finance, etc). In your first 3 months, you can expect to: Become proficient in discovery to understand prospect challenges Travel to meet prospects in the field (workshops, conferences, on-site visits); we value in-person interactions when possible Land deals for notable customers from startups to enterprise SaaS In 6 months you’ll be: Own knowledge areas, projects, tools, and market segments within the Solutions Engineering team Run tight Proofs of Concept with defined success criteria to achieve a technical win Represent the Solutions Engineering group as a deal team member Handle detailed scoping to ensure customer success post-sales In your first year you’ll have: Built relationships with people at prospect organizations, including operators and executives Designed integrations of Metronome into prospect systems and advised on pricing and packaging directions As a startup, there is substantial opportunity for high-initiative individuals to make an impact. Qualifications
This is roughly the set of things we’re looking for — if you’re interested and don’t meet some on paper, apply anyway. 0-2 years of experience in technical and/or customer-facing roles involving SaaS products (e.g., engineering, solutions, technical account management/consulting). Technical academic background with high EQ is a plus. Relentless drive to engage prospects and turn challenges into wins; ability to tackle both big initiatives and smaller tasks with ownership. Growth mindset to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-moving startup. Exceptional communication skills with technical, GTM, and finance stakeholders in mind. Interest in building and improving GTM playbooks and processes. Bonus Points
Knowledge of quote-to-cash and tools like Salesforce, NetSuite, CPQs, etc. Experience as a software engineer, product manager, or other technical roles. Experience in a software sales role, especially to technical buyers or as a founding/early salesperson at a startup. Experience with logs, metrics, billing, finance, or related tooling and concepts. Compensation
The estimated salary range for this role is $103,000 - $120,000 OTE. In addition to salary, Metronome offers a competitive total rewards package including equity, incentive pay, health benefits, and other listed benefits. The base salary varies based on market value, qualifications, and experience. The range is a guideline and may be modified. We conduct an annual pay audit to ensure pay is fair and market-aligned.
