About the Company

Metronome is the leading usage‑based billing platform built for modern software companies. It helps customers launch products faster, offer any pricing model, and streamline finance workflows without writing code. With millions of invoices processed each billing period and clients like OpenAI, Databricks, NVIDIA, Confluent, and Anthropic, the company is scaling rapidly and saving customers hours of development and manual invoicing effort. About the Role

The Solutions Engineering team sits at the intersection of sales, account management, product, R&D, and operations. You will own the technical side of the customer lifecycle from discovery through demos, POCs, technical scoping, and handover to post‑sales groups. NOTE: this role requires presence in our NYC office at least 3 days per week and does not offer sponsorship. What You’ll Do

During your first month: Learn to communicate a clear value story and positioning of Metronome. Assist in planning, building, and running customized demos for diverse buyer personas. Over the next 3 months: Become proficient in discovery and travel to meet prospects at workshops, conferences, and on‑sites. Assist in landining deals for high‑profile software companies. By 6 months: Own knowledge areas, projects, tools, and market segments. Run tight POCs with defined success criteria to secure technical wins. Represent the Solutions Engineering group as a solo deal‑team member. Handle detailed scoping to ensure customer success post‑sale. At 12 months: Build relationships across prospect organizations from operators to C‑suite. Design integrations and serve as a pricing/packaging consultant. Qualifications

0‑2 years of experience in a technical and/or customer‑facing SaaS role (engineering, solutions, technical account management, consulting). Relentless passion for being a hand‑raiser and tackling both large and small challenges. Growth mindset and ability to learn quickly in a fast‑moving startup. Exceptional communication skills across technical, go‑to‑market, and finance stakeholders. Excitement for building and improving GTM playbooks and processes. Bonus Points

Knowledge of the quote‑to‑cash space (Salesforce, NetSuite, CPQs). Experience as a software engineer, product manager, or in other technical roles. Experience in a pure sales role, especially selling to technical buyers in engineering or product orgs, or as a founder/early salesperson at a startup. Experience with logs, metrics, billing, finance, or other infrastructure/financial tooling. Compensation
