Overview We’re seeking a
visionary Senior Vice President of Enterprise Architecture
to lead the design, governance, and modernization of a large-scale enterprise technology landscape. This executive will define and execute the enterprise architecture strategy, drive transformation of legacy systems into modern, cloud-ready platforms, and accelerate adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data-driven capabilities across the organization.
As a trusted advisor to both business and technology leaders, this individual will ensure that architecture decisions enable speed, scalability, and innovation — aligning technology capabilities with strategic business goals.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
Define and lead the enterprise architecture vision and roadmap in alignment with enterprise digital transformation objectives.
Partner with senior business and IT executives to ensure technology decisions enable innovation, efficiency, and organizational agility.
Foster a culture of engineering excellence, architectural discipline, and responsible AI innovation.
Application & Platform Modernization
Lead modernization of core business applications to support digital channels, scalability, and speed to market.
Establish a modular, API-first, cloud-native architecture to accelerate product and service delivery.
Create best practices for integration across legacy systems, SaaS solutions, and emerging technologies.
Build and maintain an enterprise-wide application portfolio, ensuring transparency into business-critical systems.
Drive application rationalization to reduce technical debt, complexity, and cost while improving resilience.
Reference Architectures & Governance
Develop and enforce enterprise-wide reference architectures, design standards, and reusable patterns.
Promote adoption of modern data, integration, and security architectures to ensure interoperability and compliance.
Govern architectural decisions through transparent, collaborative processes balancing innovation with risk management.
Define and execute the enterprise AI architecture strategy to enable scalable and ethical use of machine learning, generative AI, and automation.
Partner with data and analytics leaders to ensure AI initiatives are supported by strong data platforms, pipelines, and governance.
Champion experimentation and delivery of AI-driven capabilities across functions such as claims, customer service, underwriting, and fraud detection.
Leadership & Influence
Build and lead a high-performing architecture organization including enterprise, domain, solution, and data architects.
Mentor senior leaders and architects, fostering cross-functional collaboration and enterprise thinking.
Serve as a thought leader within the industry, representing the organization in technology partnerships and professional communities.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
15+ years of progressive IT experience with proven hands-on architecture leadership.
7+ years of senior leadership experience overseeing enterprise-wide technology or architecture teams, with at least 3 years directly managing staff.
Demonstrated success leading large-scale modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
Broad proficiency across cloud computing, AI, data analytics, cybersecurity, and software development.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, and system integration.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and business audiences.
Proven ability to lead in a matrixed, fast-changing environment.
Preferred
Master’s or PhD in a relevant field.
8+ years directly leading multi-layered or enterprise architecture teams.
Experience in the insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF, PMP, or CISSP.
