Senior Engineer, Wind Operations
Base pay range: $130,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
Work directly with the Asset Managers, Operations and Maintenance personnel, Project Managers, and fellow Operations Engineering teams to identify, quantify, investigate, report on, and correct the root causes of sub‑optimal fleet performance and reliability.
Participate in Technical Due Diligences (TDD) for electrical components to ensure operational insights are effectively captured.
Analyze the existing generators, converters, transformers, controls, and electrical failure modes in the fleet.
Evaluate the criticality of each failure mode within electrical components and assess the risk of catastrophic failure.
Support generator, converter, and transformer failure dispositions.
Support (and/or manage third‑party consultants) in conducting root cause analyses to determine primary reasons for major failures and find solutions that impact plant operations.
Lead initiatives to develop engineering practices and processes that improve engineering quality, productivity, and results.
Mentor and train other engineers to improve the competence and performance of the team.
Develop measurements and KPIs to drive the team’s performance on project delivery and accuracy.
Allocate time for R&D efforts focused on future tools and technologies.
Job Requirements and Experiences
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
Advanced degree preferred.
A minimum of 8 years of relevant electrical engineering experience preferred.
Working knowledge of equipment utilized in the renewable energy sector inclusive of utility‑scale wind turbines.
Demonstrated experience leading root cause analyses and corrective action problem‑solving for mechanical components.
Demonstrated experience developing component or repair specifications and working with suppliers to qualify mechanical components for purchase or repair.
Knowledge of the different generator and converter/inverter types.
Knowledge of wind turbine generator electrical systems.
Knowledge of industry standards and recommended practices.
Knowledge of data analytics, reduction, and reporting.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships.
Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space.
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
Strong leadership and communication, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables.
Ability to multitask, while working independently and as part of a team.
Motivated self‑starter, goal‑oriented, and strong problem‑solving abilities.
Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds.
