As Head of Product Development (R&D), you will lead the formulation, innovation, and development of new dietary supplement products, driving the company’s research strategy and ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends. This is a key leadership role for an experienced technical professional passionate about translating science into high-quality, commercially successful products.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the R&D team in developing innovative formulations across vitamins, minerals, botanicals, probiotics, and functional ingredients.

Oversee the full product development lifecycle, from concept through to scale-up and commercialization.

Collaborate closely with commercial, regulatory, and quality teams to ensure feasibility, compliance, and efficiency.

Evaluate new technologies, delivery systems, and ingredient trends to maintain the company’s competitive advantage.

Build and maintain relationships with ingredient suppliers, research institutions, and customers to foster innovation partnerships.

Manage R&D budgets, timelines, and project priorities across multiple sites or regions.

Champion a culture of scientific excellence, data integrity, and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

Advanced degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition, or related field (PhD preferred).

Proven track record (10+ years) in R&D leadership within the dietary supplement, nutraceutical, or functional food industry.

Strong technical expertise in formulation science, delivery technologies, and regulatory requirements.

Experience working with contract manufacturing organisations or in B2B product development.

Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and innovation.
