Principal Systems Engineer
providing support to the Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management Division (C3BM).
Location: Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA Job type: Full-time
Responsibilities
Align with one of five Mission Integration Teams (MITs): Air, Maritime, Land, Homeland Air Defense, and Cross Cutting
Translate operational and functional requirements into technical requirements (Operational Analysis)
Design capabilities architecture ensuring integration/interoperability with DAF C3BM enterprise architecture (Architecture Definition)
Assess risk and mitigate through collaboration with the Science & Technology Community (Risk assessment)
Manage acquisition community execution and requirements delivery (Execution management strategy)
Support test and evaluation strategy with acquisition and test & evaluation communities (Test and Evaluation Strategy)
Serve as a system of systems architecture design and development engineer for the MIT (System architecture design)
Review current DoD architecture models and migrate to future state enabling sensor-to-shooter connectivity (Architecture review)
Drive interconnectivity between represented PEOs and weapon systems (Interconnectivity)
Capture as‑is and to‑be states driven by MIT stressing engagement scenarios (State capture)
Engage joint and coalition community to design architecture connecting any sensor to any shooter regardless of service or coalition (Joint architecture)
Identify, assess, and mature innovative concepts to meet current and future AF needs (Innovation)
Qualifications Citizenship : US citizen
Clearance : Must have and be able to maintain an active Top Secret level clearance and be SCI eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree
20+ years of experience; 12+ years DoD related
Familiar with cloud‑based systems, cost and performance management
Familiar with agile methods, CI/CD, DevSecOps
Comprehensive knowledge of DoD acquisition and program management (DoDI 5000.02/5000.75)
Ability to analyze effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition programs
Excellent oral and written communication, including briefings, documents, plans
