Responsibilities
Collaborates with business stakeholders to understand requirements and align solutions with business goals
Develop solution architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with IT target architecture and aligning to business requirements.
Understand the current North America underwriting landscape problems and business priorities to facilitate development of a holistic roadmap.
Communicates architecture objectives to business and IT stakeholders and consults during development of requirements. Provides oversight throughout design implementations into the productive solution.
Ensure the solution meets functional, non-functional and regulatory requirements especially in insurance domain.
Design overall architecture that includes system, components, application, data and infrastructure ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
Present solutions to business partners clearly defining technology solutions aligning to business requirements.
Address cross-domain challenges ensuring components work together cohesively.
Core Responsibilities
Design solutions to demonstrate how technology supports business outcomes and work closely with non-technical teams.
Bridge gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Utilize knowledge across multiple technology domains like software, infrastructure, integration, security and collaborate with horizontal technical/application and platform architects.
What you'll need to succeed
8+ years of experience as solution architect delivering complex large projects. Experience working with insurance platforms including COTS products Duck Creek, Guidewire is a significant advantage.
Strong knowledge of IT architecture principles, enterprise frameworks, and various technology platforms combined with the ability to develop architecture strategies using reference architectures, domain architecture patterns and technology frameworks.
Strong understanding of the insurance industry, particularly Property & Casualty and hands on experience of architecting, solution and tuning insurance platforms.
Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into technology solution specifications and create blueprint for development and integration team to follow.
Experience in designing cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure) and implementing IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and hybrid models. Strong knowledge of cloud architecture patterns, principles and best practices and emerging technology in insurance industry.
Experience in MuleSoft, AWS integration patterns, Spring boot framework, Java, Rabbit MQ, Kafka, Angular, AI/ML solutions.
Technical certifications TOGAF, AWS solution architect highly valued.
Able to monitor market trends and guide future technologies and capabilities to benefit business at AIG.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Compensation & Location For positions based in New Jersey, the base salary range is $126,000 - $171,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
