at Southern California Edison (SCE) for the NextGen ERP Program. The program spans five years, leveraging emerging digital solutions while re‑imagining and transforming processes and organization to dramatically improve operational performance. We upgrade systems while transforming business processes to maximize efficiency, improve data quality, and provide integrated decision‑making across the enterprise. The implementation phase uses a hybrid agile approach to drive change. Finance Integration is one of four tracks critical to delivering these outcomes.
This role sits within the Finance Integration track with sub‑tracks covering Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, Plant Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Accounts Payable/Receivable, and Time & Pay. The team implements future‑state designs that transform core finance functions. The position supports efforts to ensure solutions align with business needs and enterprise goals. Serving in this role, you will ensure business requirements are met and complex integration is fully addressed through streamlined and rationalized processes that align with new technological capabilities for the relevant process area and activities.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support decisions and secure buy‑in for fit‑to‑standard and custom solutions.
Assist cross‑functional teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of business operations software and systems.
Support implementation workshops and forums to gather, synthesize, and validate information, ensuring a robust understanding of existing business processes and requirements.
Conduct thorough evaluations to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in current procedures.
Challenge the status quo, support transformational change, and recommend practical solutions that align with implementation goals.
Analyze and synthesize data and process flows, incorporating best practices to support the implementation strategy and present findings to stakeholders.
Assist in designing and documenting future state business processes and requirements that align with new system capabilities.
Collaborate with technical team experts to enhance processes, including performing comprehensive user integration testing and providing functional guidance and supervision to analysts.
Build relationships and interact with peers, managers, system integration (SI) partners, directors, and all levels of leadership to achieve implementation objectives.
Prepare and deliver presentations and support other work activities that align with project milestones.
Protect all company assets, including physical, financial, and cybersecurity, and manage private customer data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
Five or more years of business operations and/or transformation experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
Experience and knowledge of SAP/ERP applications/modules, including GL Accounting, SAP Finance and Payroll modules (FI, CO or S4HANA Finance), and/or SCE cost flows.
Experience with enterprise‑level financial reports and dashboards leveraging S/4HANA capabilities, PowerBI, Alteryx, or other reporting tools.
Exceptional communication, written and verbal, with negotiation and influence skills.
Experience translating complex business needs and requirements into appropriate technological solutions.
Experience identifying and implementing process improvements or technology solutions.
Ability to positively enhance and contribute to a culture of safety, collaboration, open dialogue, mutual respect, and appreciation.
Additional Information
The position’s work mode is hybrid; the employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on remaining days. Employees must work and reside in California unless otherwise noted.
