Summary A 25% Recruitment or Relocation Incentive may be authorized for highly qualified selectee. Phoenix VA Health Care System – Radiology provides inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services to central Arizona Veterans.
Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee enterprise‑wide PACS operation and the staff dedicated to this operation, including management of digital image sharing between PVAHCS and community care partners.
Split time between subspecialty, general radiology, and informatics.
Onboard personnel, evaluate prospective new hires, and oversee compliance.
Participate as a member and/or leader of Radiology Service and PVAHCS‑wide committees as assigned.
Document patient care in accordance with VA and PVAHCS policies.
Serve part‑time as a Radiology Educator for medical trainees, residents, and fellows.
Mentor junior faculty, fellows, and others on research projects.
Required Qualifications
Board Certification in Radiology.
U.S. Citizenship and a full and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state or territory.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Selected applicants will be required to complete a pre‑employment physical examination and be compliant with all VA background/screening investigations.
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is required for all VA health‑care personnel.
Must pass a pre‑employment urinalysis for illegal drug use; refusal will result in denial of employment.
All selected candidates will be required to complete an online onboarding process and accept the terms and conditions of VA employment.
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after December 31, 1959.
Preferred Qualifications
Fellowship training in one or more radiology subspecialties.
Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (or other schedule as agreed with the Chief of Radiology). Call requirements include sharing rotating night and evening coverage and weekend call with other radiology physicians.
