Senior Accountant – Tax & Accounting We are looking for a Senior Accountant – Tax & Accounting to join our team in our Fort Lauderdale, FL site. This professional will play a key role in our finance team, leading tax compliance, reporting, and accounting functions to ensure our financial integrity and adherence to regulatory requirements.

What You’re Going to Do Accounting

Support the preparation of the IFRS Financial Statements for our subsidiaries in the Americas region, discussing and aligning complex accounting entries, connecting headquarters and local office to address current issues, and proposing process improvements.

Prepare or revise the Financial Statements in Local GAAP for the Americas subsidiaries under the supervision of the Controlling Manager, preparing supplementary notes when requested by local authorities and coordinating with legal to approve and file disclosures.

Supervise and organize the preparation of the analysis and documents requested by auditors, answering accounting questions of medium and higher complexity in areas such as stocks (impairment, slow move, controls, etc.), taxes, financial assets and liabilities, and explaining financial results.

Check GL account allocations and coordinate with Corporate Accounting and IT for new GL requirements.

Check revenue and cost allocations against the chart of accounts, reporting material mistakes or corrections to management and deciding on adjustments up to a certain materiality.

Propose operational process workflows and improvements focusing on simplification, automation, quality, and controls.

Coordinate with different areas the follow‑up of the monthly closing in connection with guidelines from Brazil.

Prepare monthly adjustments between IFRS and local GAAP during the closing for tax calculation support and, on demand, send analysis of company results and fiscal year forecast to management.

Organize or provide SAP and company process training to new employees when requested.

Support reconciliation of the books (scope limited to areas with higher risk linked to taxes or main GAAP adjustments).

Approve and release financial documents for payments in SAP.

On demand, design accounting journal‑entry templates, prepare the chart of accounts, and update the accounting policy in each jurisdiction under the supervision of the Controlling Manager.

Taxes

Prepare tax returns in Americas jurisdictions and/or review tax files and returns prepared by tax advisors, requiring specific technical knowledge in each geography for direct and indirect taxes such as corporate income tax, VAT/GST, stamp duties, top‑up obligations, tax advance rules, etc.

Participate in the preparation of transfer price documentation, providing documents and explanations about the company process, business and accounting, and reviewing all TP documentation with corrections and suggestions to executives.

Prepare information for the Corporate Tax Planning area for studies linked to tax rulings, risk analysis, monetary calculation of risks, strategic decision simulations, info‑cap calculation, and studies on monetization of tax credits, corporate restructuring, and tax impact studies.

Collect documents to be provided to tax inspectors in case of tax auditing and provide answers of medium and higher complexity (technical explanations without decision‑making).

Follow up on the payment of taxes to guarantee timely payment.

Control tax credits and their consumption in all Americas subsidiaries.

Anti‑dumping process – paper business

Supervise the dumping process regarding billing adjustments and logistics costs incurred in the US (Section C).

Interact with third‑party service provider to manage deadlines and assure overall quality of deliveries.

Projects

Participate in discussions about restructuring plans such as taxes, mergers and acquisitions, business migration, closing a business, starting a business, and SAP projects.

Request and take part in IT projects and FinanceTech as a key user representing the International Controlling area, including setting up business companies in SAP, business areas, cost centers, tax codes, automation of current activities, and identification of new opportunities applicable inside the team.

Take part in governance projects with business units for definition of roles & responsibilities, processes, systems to guarantee compliance within the scope of each Company entity.

Implement the “plug and play” model to add a new subsidiary to the current operational and compliance process managed by the International Controlling Area.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Economics from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in financial process as accounting, treasury and taxation as a Senior Analyst.

SAP knowledge and experience.

Experience supervising and guiding team members and/or outsourced processes.

Diploma, Certification, or strong knowledge and experience with IFRS.

Proven experience in taxation (GST/VAT and income tax).

Technical experience representing the company in discussions about auditing, tax assessments, and interaction with local authorities.

Proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.

Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Good interpersonal skills, building alliances, hands‑on, commitment, pro‑active and problem‑solving oriented personality.

US GAAP and/or IFRS.

Experience in shared services is a plus.

IT skills: Power BI, Alteryx, Clickup.
