Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) seeks a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer for Modeling & Simulation within the Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) organization at Rolling Meadows, IL. The role leads technical contributions, team leadership, and integration of advanced systems for U.S. warfighters. Responsibilities
Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation for total systems. Conduct functional analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies. Lead modeling and simulation activities, including software development of in‑house models and algorithms. Collaborate in an integrated product team (IPT) environment, ensuring cost, schedule, and risk constraints are met. Manage technical performance, supportability, and effectiveness analysis across all system levels. Qualifications
BS degree in STEM with 5+ years related experience or MS degree with 3+ years related experience (Principal level). BS degree with 8+ years/ MS degree with 6+ years related experience (Sr. Principal level). Experience with Electronic Warfare, model‑based systems engineering concepts, and complex electronic system integration and test. Proficiency in MATLAB, C, C++, Java, Python, or other scripting languages. US Citizenship and an Active Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications
Real‑time signal processing experience in firmware and software. Knowledge of MATLAB, C, C++, CUDA, VHDL, OpenCL, SysML, Python. Experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) tools (Cameo, Rhapsody). Working knowledge of DOORS, ClearCase/ClearQuest. Strong analytical, decision‑making, and communication skills. Willingness to travel as required. Active Top Secret Clearance. Salary
Primary Level: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00 Secondary Level: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00 Benefits
