Pediatric Surgeon – Critical Care Surgeon
Stanford University is seeking two full‑time academic faculty positions in Pediatric Surgery with a focus on surgical critical care. Positions are available at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level based on qualifications.
Location Primary location: Stanford Children’s Health in Palo Alto, with a share of time at satellite sites including Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, California Pacific Medical Center, and John Muir Medical Center.
Responsibilities
Provide advanced clinical care in pediatric surgery and surgical critical care.
Develop and maintain a high‑volume, high‑complexity clinical practice.
Mentor graduate students, medical students, and junior faculty.
Lead and participate in research projects with a strong track record of funded or potential funded research.
Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and service activities.
Qualifications
MD or MD/PhD with board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Surgery.
Preferred board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Surgical Critical Care.
Current faculty rank equivalent to Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in a research‑active institution.
Strong research record with current funding or potential to secure funding.
Commitment to mentorship, diversity, inclusion, and equity.
Compensation
Assistant Professor: $411,000 – $427,000
Associate Professor: $478,000 – $505,000
Professor: $566,000 – $593,000
Base pay reflects faculty rank and years in rank; additional benefits include housing assistance and participation in institutional incentive programs.
