Habitat For Humanity International
Reporting to the ReStore Operations Manager, the ReStore Manager manages the operations of the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity (AAHH) ReStore, including supervising and supporting the Assistant Manager to ensure effective daily operations.

This includes delegating, guiding, and collaborating with the Assistant Manager to maximize efficiency and ensure consistent leadership presence.
Principal Activities
Responsible for all ReStore activities including working with the Donations Manager regarding store inventory, ensuring all product is priced and placed for sale in a timely manner, and coordinating with the Assistant Manager to oversee daily inventory management tasks.
Responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work and retail environment, in collaboration with the Assistant Manager to ensure safety procedures are consistently followed.
Responsible for working with the Volunteer Manager to ensure volunteers are engaged and integrated with the ReStore staff; provides direction to the Assistant Manager to support volunteer supervision and training.
Responsible for following the annual business plan for the ReStore as directed by the ReStore Operations Manager, delegating implementation responsibilities to the Assistant Manager where appropriate.
Responsible for following the annual operating budget for the ReStore and working with the Assistant Manager to monitor and control daily operating expenses.
Responsible for the supervision and training of ReStore staff and volunteers, including direct oversight of the Assistant Manager, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and providing mentorship for leadership development.
In tandem with the Donations Manager, responsible for ensuring adequate inventories of merchandise to be sold; collaborates with the Assistant Manager to manage floor stock levels and replenishment processes.
Responsible to ensure proper store layout, merchandise displays, and signage; works with the Assistant Manager to plan, set, and maintain merchandising standards.
Works with the ReStore Operations Manager and the Communications Department for sales and marketing strategies that will achieve sales goals, and ensures the Assistant Manager is engaged in supporting promotions and special sales events.
Responsible for controlling store expenses to achieve assigned profit goals, with the Assistant Manager assisting in monitoring day-to-day cost control practices.
Responsible for the ReStore building, exterior grounds, and all equipment so that they are kept safe, clean and attractive; works with the Assistant Manager to assign and oversee maintenance tasks.
Responsible for all record keeping and reports as required, delegating certain operational reports to the Assistant Manager as appropriate.
Working with the ReStore Operations Manager to ensure that the ReStore is adequately staffed and scheduling oversight is supported by the Assistant Manager.
Provides leadership, guidance, and evaluation of the Assistant Manager, ensuring open communication, regular feedback, and clear delegation of duties to maintain consistency in store operations.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, nonprofit management, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
Minimum 3 years of ReStore, Thrift store or retail management, nonprofit resale, or related supervisory experience required.
Experience supervising and developing staff in a retail or service environment.
Strong leadership, team-building, and delegation skills with the ability to mentor.
General business knowledge including budgeting, expense control, and sales forecasting.
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and motivate staff, volunteers, and customers.
Knowledge of merchandising, inventory management, and retail best practices.
Commitment to safety standards and ability to enforce policies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, POS systems, and ability to learn new software as needed.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Customer service–oriented with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups.
Abilities / Attributes
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a physical retail environment.
Flexibility to work weekends, occasional evenings, as required.

Pay range: $32.90 - $36.00
