Engineer - Transmission System Planning (Hybrid)

Overview
The Engineer will work with complex systems and equipment, providing engineering and technical services to support our growing organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to work both in the office and in the field on a variety of interesting projects, including designing new substations, analyzing system disturbances, and engineering electrical protection and control circuits. Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment. Eversource will not sponsor candidates for work visas. Essential Functions
Supports development and maintenance of system models for transmission studies under guidance of senior engineers. Collects and reviews forecast loads to be included in the model. Collects, modifies, and reviews electric system parameters including equipment ratings, impedances, contingency sets, and protection and control parameters. Collects, modifies, and reviews power system component modeling for steady state, stability, short circuit, and EMT analyses. Assists with transmission system impact studies across Eversource territories and prepares study scopes based on study assumptions. Applies corporate planning standards and relevant reliability standards. Supports solution development to mitigate significant adverse impacts and documents study results in reports. Provides support to senior engineers and interfaces with internal groups and ISO-NE staff. Performs emergent storm assignments during inclement weather or adverse system conditions. Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Education
Knowledge of power system transmission analysis tools such as PSSE, TARA, ASPEN, PSCAD, or similar. Knowledge of electrical theory applied to planning an electric power supply system. Good written and oral communication skills, including formal presentation. Excellent team skills and effective interpersonal skills. Ability to set high standards for self and others and accept responsibility for outcomes. Baccalaureate degree in Electrical Engineering required. Electric Power Systems preferred. 3+ years of relevant experience. Knowledge of power system planning is preferred. Competencies

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. Salary is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for a potential incentive. The annual salary range for this position is $97,570.00–$108,410.00. EEO Statement
