POSITION SUMMARY The City of Prescott is seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director to lead the City’s financial operations and serve as a key advisor to City leadership. This executive level position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of municipal finance, including budgeting, accounting, revenue management, utility billing, payroll, debt management, and financial reporting. The Finance Director plays a critical role in long‑term financial planning and policy development, ensuring fiscal integrity and compliance with regulatory standards. Serving concurrently as the City Treasurer and Investment Officer, the Director will manage investment strategies, direct the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), and present complex financial information to the City Council, City Manager, and the public. The ideal candidate will be a licensed CPA with a strong background in public sector finance, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to communicate financial concepts clearly and effectively.

They are a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with extensive experience in public sector financial management, including budgeting, long‑term forecasting, investment oversight, and regulatory compliance. This individual demonstrates exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences, including elected officials, department heads, and the public.
