Overview Manufacturing Engineer role at Madison Approach Staffing Inc. Location: Yonkers, NY. This is a Permanent Direct Hire opportunity. Hours: 8:30am-5:30pm. Salary: $85-100K DOE.
Responsibilities Provides assistance to the Production Engineering Manager for all aspects of planning functions.
Researches and analyzes production specifications and plant capacity to determine manufacturing processes.
Plans, prepares, and issues parts and material schedules that anticipates and coordinates with production sequences.
Researches, plans, and schedules manufacture of jigs, fixtures, and production aids based on requirements of production sequences.
Develops procedures for the construction of production aids and modifications of these as needed.
Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
Estimate costs and submit bids for engineering, construction, or extraction projects, and prepare contract documents.
Uses computer assisted design/drafting (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to develop production (shop) drawings.
Creates and revises production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).
Utilizes knowledge of machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
Drafts detailed Multiview drawings of individual parts from assembly drawings.
Creates DXF files as used in writing CNC programs, and completes CNC programs.
Maintains an organized file system for Production Drawings.
Qualifications Minimum five (5) years’ experience in plant engineering or production planning.
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Direct work experience with production processes, manufacturing technologies, and facility equipment including machinery, overhead cranes, jigs, fixtures, rigging, and production aids.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to create 2D or 3D designs to run simulations, analyze and test.
Direct exposure to factory shop floor work conditions.
Strong mathematical concepts (statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, trigonometry) and ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions; comfortable with the metric system.
Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology.
Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
High skill level in SolidWorks CAD software; AutoCAD version 2000 or higher.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); ability to learn new graphic software for CAM programs (Laser and Turret Punch).
Working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication equipment (Brake Press and Shear) is a plus.
