E-Commerce Merchandising Manager

Position Summary
The E-commerce Merchandising Manager leads the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of the online store’s product assortment, pricing, and merchandising strategies. The manager communicates these strategies to our thrift retail store management partners to maximize sales, enhance the customer experience, and drive operational efficiency, total revenue, and margin within our e-commerce division. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Use sales and marketplace performance data to develop and execute merchandising strategies that drive online sales, customer engagement, and conversion rates. Curate and optimize the online product assortment to ensure a compelling and high-performing selection. Implement best practices for categorization, product descriptions, images, and SEO to improve discoverability. Monitor inventory and product category mix, sell-through rates, and product performance to inform replenishment and pricing strategies. Collaborate with the donations and retail teams to ensure a steady supply of high-value and in-demand products. Lead onsite merchandising efforts, including homepage updates, landing pages, collections, and seasonal campaigns. Optimize product pages and category navigation to enhance the customer journey and increase conversions. Work closely with the e-commerce marketing team to align merchandising efforts with promotions, email campaigns, and digital ads. Utilize analytics to improve product placement, recommendations, and cross-selling opportunities. Pricing & Promotions
Develop pricing strategies that balance revenue growth with margin optimization. Manage markdowns, clearance strategies, and promotional pricing to drive sales while minimizing excess inventory. Partner with marketing to create compelling promotions and discounts that attract customers and increase sales. Data & Performance Analysis
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including conversion rates, average order value (AOV), and sales performance by category. Conduct competitor benchmarking to stay ahead of e-commerce trends and pricing strategies. Generate reports and provide analysis to guide decision-making and continuous improvements. Collaboration & Leadership
Work cross-functionally with the donated goods retail team, marketing, operations, IT, and logistics to ensure a seamless e-commerce experience. Manage relationships with third-party vendors, platforms, and marketplace partners (e.g., eBay, Amazon, Shopify). Train and support team members in merchandising best practices and e-commerce tools. Manage a team of in-store e-commerce champions for optimal product selection and training.
